Your insurer requires an INCERT after-theft system: the guide
The letter from your broker has arrived: no compliant after-theft system, no theft cover. This is neither zeal nor a sales tactic, it is standard practice on the Belgian market. Here is how to comply without losing weeks over it.

Why insurers require it
Vehicle theft figures in Belgium are rising again: 5,782 cars stolen in 2023, more than 27,000 in five years, with a marked concentration in Wallonia. In response, insurers are tightening their terms. For high-value vehicles, generally above around EUR 60,000 excluding VAT, theft cover is conditional on the installation of an after-theft system connected to an INCERT-approved monitoring station.
INCERT is the Belgian certification body for vehicle security systems. It classifies after-theft systems into TT categories according to their capabilities. Your policy or your broker states the category required for your vehicle.
The document that matters: the mounting certificate
Installing the system is not enough: you have to prove it. That is the role of the mounting certificate, which we draw up at the end of the fitting. This document identifies the vehicle, the system, its category and the INCERT-approved monitoring station it is connected to. It is the contractual proof your insurer expects; without it, the clause is not met.
We connect our after-theft systems to an INCERT-approved monitoring station under number TB-0004. Every installation carried out in Nivelles ends with the handover of this certificate. The details are on our INCERT anti-theft protection page.
The procedure, in four steps
- Ask for the required category from your broker or in your special conditions (TT category).
- Contact us with the make, model and category: we confirm the right system and the price, installation and certificate included.
- Book an appointment: installation usually takes half a day in Nivelles.
- Send the certificate to your insurer. That is all.
What the system does for you, beyond the clause
The insurer's requirement is a chance to equip yourself properly. Our systems detect jamming (and respond: alarm, starter cut-off, door locking), remain localisable outside internet coverage and notify you on your phone at the slightest abnormal event. The clause in your policy becomes a genuine recovery tool.
