FAQ

The questions we hear most often, on the phone and in the workshop. Straight answers; for anything else, give us a call.

Theft protection and insurance

My insurer mentions a "TT category". What is that?

INCERT classifies after-theft systems into TT categories according to their capabilities (localisation, intervention, security level). Your policy states the category required for your vehicle. Give us that reference, or the name of your insurer, and we will confirm the right system. More detail in our guide to insurer requirements.

Is the mounting certificate included in the price?

Yes, always. The official certificate is part of the installation: it is drawn up in Nivelles at the end of the fitting, and you pass it on to your insurer as proof.

My car is keyless. Am I more exposed to theft?

Yes: around three out of four keyless vehicles are vulnerable to the relay attack, which replays your key's signal from a distance. An after-theft system with jamming detection stays effective where the factory alarm sees nothing. Our article on the relay attack explains the method.

What should I do immediately after a theft?

File a report with the police, then call us. Localisation is activated, including outside internet coverage, and the information is passed to the relevant services. Depending on how your system is configured, the starter can be blocked remotely.

Fleet management

From how many vehicles does telematics make sense?

Our customers run from 3 to several hundred vehicles. The break-even point comes quickly: fuel, unaccounted kilometres, maintenance and tachograph administration. We put figures on your actual fleet rather than quoting a generic percentage.

Can I keep my current system during the transition?

Yes. The switch happens in waves: your current system can stay in service while we equip your vehicles, batch by batch, without interrupting your tracking. Whether the existing hardware or your data can be reused depends on your original system; we assess this with you on a case-by-case basis.

Is driver tracking legal?

Yes, provided you comply with GDPR: a documented purpose, drivers informed, and a private and business mode for personal journeys. Our systems include all of this; the article on private mode and GDPR sets out good practice in detail.

Are my electric vehicles managed like the others?

Yes, on the same dashboard: state of charge, range and cost per kilometre are shown alongside your combustion vehicles. Useful for steering the transition driven by the 2026 tax rules.

Installation and hardware

Where do installations take place?

In Nivelles for individual vehicles, on your site for fleets (we plan in waves around your rotations). Allow one to two hours per vehicle depending on the level of integration.

Is the hardware under warranty?

The hardware and the installation are covered; the exact terms are set out in the offer and conditions provided with the quote. If anything goes wrong, the support team in Nivelles answers directly, in French and in Dutch.

What happens to the unit if I change vehicle?

It is removed and refitted cleanly on the next vehicle. For an after-theft system connected to an INCERT-approved monitoring station, a new mounting certificate is drawn up after fitting on the new vehicle.
